Meeting Chaired by Mr Martin Dunabie
Committee: Martin, Chic, Linda, Stella, Frances, Sharon & Jackie J
Apologies From, Frances Murray
Welcome – Martin welcomed everyone to the meeting, The meeting was very well attended, with more than 30 members and we saw faces we have not seen for a very long time. We got off to a good start with a cup of tea or coffee and a few sandwiches and sausage rolls supplied by Goudie’s which were lovely.
THANK YOU’s for: The Pop-up shop [July] and Charity Shop [Sept] –
Both were a success in different ways. Collectively we took £1,052.25.
We would like to thank everyone who helped, and you know who you are, we had lots of members, helping, bringing donations, offering help, or just popping in to have a quick chat. It was great to see you all, and we introduced a few non-members to MOF’s handing out flyers, 2021 calendars and other info.
We would especially like to say a very big thank you, to three members who really went that bit extra at both events, Phyllis Callow, Marion Kerr, and Jackie Wilson without whom we would not have managed. We had a small gift of flowers for each of them.
MOF’s Camera Club, Calendar 2022 - The Maybole Over 50's Camera Club have once again brought us a delightful calendar. The camera club have outdone themselves this year the pictures are great, and we really do appreciate all the work the group put into this project every year. And to say thank you for all the work they have done over the last few years we have a small gift voucher from Greenside for them to put towards a lunch or something for the group. 2022 Calendars now on sale at Goudie’s and at the Spar. The big A4 size is still £6.00 & the new smaller A5 size is only £4.00. and is ideal for posting to all your friends and family with just a 1st class stamp.
We have been asked about the 2021 calendar sales. With a print run of 100 x A4 size and 87 sold and 40 x long kitchen style with 30 sold a Total of [£627.00] with 5 given as gifts. Unfortunately, when we went into the Christmas lockdown a number were locked up in the Cutting Room until the end of April. And could then not be sold. We gave the last of these away at the pop-up shop in July.

MOF’s Membership 2021 – because members keep asking - The committee decided to help encourage the members back out into the community and out of social isolation, to wave the membership fees for 2021. Fees are £12.00 per annum but are not due until April 2022 at the Annual General Meeting.
Committee meetings – Generally held the last Friday of each calendar month – All MOF’s members are very welcome however - please make an appointment so as not to disrupt a meeting - should you wish to see the committee just drop us an e-mail or phone.
Backgammon – Jules has had a heart attack but is at home recovering. Though would love to re-start the MOFs Tuesday morning Backgammon group, we have found for various reasons not all the group regulars are wishing to resume playing at this time. Jules was prepared to resume the group, but only if and when there was sufficient demand. So, if anyone would like to learn and to play backgammon, we would be keen to hear from you, whether you are a complete beginner or you have played before. Jules is a great teacher and will gladly give tuition to anyone who is a total beginner.
