Minute of MOF’s General meeting held on Thursday 1 February 2024 at 1pm 

Mrs Senga Mason chaired this meeting and welcomed everyone to this the first meeting of the new year. 

Christmas Social - held on 20 December, this was enjoyed by all who attended. Thanks to the Ukelele Group and to all others who helped make the afternoon.  The Raffle raised £180.00 and was split between Whiteleys Retreat, Ayrshire Cancer Support and the Carrick Community Food Garden.  Members agreed that this is something that could be repeated.   Maybe for Easter time or perhaps the AGM. 

Groups - all going well; Out & Abouters growing in numbers, this is held every second Friday of the month. Going to Kilmarnock Friday 09 February 2024. 

Sewing Group is restarting from Monday 05 February 2024, this will be held in the NCCBC HQ building formally the Golf-Clubhouse, Kirkoswald Road 1pm–4pm. Why not pop along. 

Charity Shop – MOF’s will have the shop at Greenside from Friday 1 March 2024. Donations would be welcome as would Tombola Prizes.  Also, if you can spare an hour or two to help in the shop, please contact us either by phone or email. 

Craft Fair – the next Fair will be held in The Gatherings, 44 High Street Maybole, first week in April. MOF’s is also looking at maybe having other smaller events within “The Gatherings”  later in the year.  

Outings – suggestions are  St Andrews, Pitlochry or Peebles. for the May outing. We are looking at Thursday 30 May, for those interested in attending could you please email MOFs with you choice as soon as possible so that arrangements can be made. – usual prices are £20 members £30 non-members. 

Edinburgh Tattoo – We have a list of names, if anyone else wishes to go please get in touch as soon as possible so that we have numbers to allow us to go ahead and purchase tickets.  A deposit of £40 is required to be paid along with your name. 

Co-op Fund – J Johnson mentioned that MOFs are in the Co-op, fund we expect our 1st payment from the fund at the end of February. Please chose us as your cause. 

Annual Fees – these will be due on 1 April 2024 – membership is £12 per year. 

AGM - the Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday 2 May 2024 details to follow. 

Cross house Hospital – have put out an appeal for small soft knitted/crochet toys for the Children’s ward – if anyone wishes to make and donate, please let us know.  

Bingo - this has ceased for the present. 

Next meeting will be held on Thursday 4 April 2024 at 1pm in St Oswald’s Church Hall, Cargill Road, Maybole
