Minute of MOF’s General meeting held on Thursday 7 November 2024 at 1pm

Craft Fair – recently held in the Carrick Centre, good day with a varied selection of stalls.  Thanks to Jackie and all the others who helped in any way, also thanks for donations towards the Tombola. Next year Craft Fairs – Spring/ Summer and Autumn.

Remembrance Day – this Sunday 10 November in the Town Hall at 10.00am, followed by Parade to Memorial for 11am.  A wreath will be laid by the MOF’s.

Groups update –

• Theatre – tickets have been bought for the Macdonald Bros on February 7 2025, at present there are 2 spare tickets.   

Pantomime at the Gaiety – Those interested in attending please let me know as soon as possible so we can gauge numbers for tickets.  This normally will be a matinee performance followed by a meal at the Stage Door.

Pantomime – Kings Theatre, Glasgow – Tuesday 10 December – 20 members attending

War Horse – 26 March 2025, Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow, - at present there are 2 spare tickets available

• Sewing Group – usually 6/8 attending, this is held in the Golf Clubhouse, Kirkoswald Road. On Monday afternoons.
• Knit & Natter – good attendance on Monday mornings, not so many on Thursday mornings
• Ukulele - good attendance normally 15/16 on Wednesday’s – if anyone would like to go along and listen or sing along, they would be made welcome
• Walking Group – well attended each week, yesterday the walk was at Girvan always ending with coffee and cake.
• Short Walking Group – usually a good 5/6 attend, this group normally walk about 2 miles at various locations
• Camera Club – new member, a small group of like-minded folks
• Art Group – this class has 10 regular members.  Thanks goes to this group who have painted designs for the MOF’s Christmas Cards.  There are 8 different cards, these are priced at £1.50. each or 8 for £10.00. 
• Calendars - these are priced at £6 and £5; these were produced by NCCBC, these contain photos from the recent Photograph competition. Hopefully next year the Camera club will once again produce a Calendar for MOF’s
• Out & Abouters – small group of 5/6 for this group who meet every 2 Friday of the month.  Their next outing will be to Prestwick on 8/11/24 meeting at Greenside at 9.15am

• Christmas Social – this will be held on Wednesday 11 December 2024 in St Oswald’s at 1pm. This will be along the same as what was held last year.  There will be a raffle held with funds going to named Charities, some suggested today was Guide Dogs/ Alzheimer’s / Cancer Support, the committee will decide at the next meeting.  If possible, those who are thinking of coming along could you please let me know, this is for catering purposes thanks
• Charity Shop – will be held in the Gatherings week commencing 17 March 2025.
• The Events Committee are to going to do a Christmas card delivery, cards can be put in a post box at the Bazaar to be held in Maybole Town Hall on 7 December, charge is donation, and delivery is for only within Maybole

Business concluded and tea/coffee and Sandwiches were enjoyed, next meeting will be early next year
