Minutes of Annual General Meeting held on Thursday 4 May 2023 in St Oswald’s Church Hall, Cargill Road, Maybole at 1pm

Mrs Senga Mason chaired this meeting, the fifth AGM in 7 years of MOF’s. 

 

Chairman Report -Senga gave her report to members present, a resume of events since the last AGM, namely a meeting to discuss the benefits of “Get ahead of the Curve”; Christmas Markets trip to Newcastle; Charity Shop in February, also thanks from Maybole Brownies for members assisting in the Charity Shop; Articles in the Community quarterly magazine; Craft Fairs with thanks to Sharon Fields and Jackie Johnson for organising;  there are 80 members to date.  And paid tribute to members that we have lost throughout the past year; thanks to all members who have helped at any of the above events. 

 

Treasurer’s Report – Jackie had circulated a copy of the balance sheet to members present and answered questions.  Any member who would like copies of the balance sheets-mailed to them just ask. Groups were reminded that they could apply to committee for an in-house grant for any of the groups if they require assistance for materials etc. 

 

Group Reports:

Art Group – Senga read out a report from E Turner who was unable to attend this meeting.  This group meets on a Friday morning, all welcome to come along and join in 

  

Camera Club – This group meeting Monday afternoon, they go out and about but inhouse if too wet. To date there are 6 members 

 

Sewing/Knitting - meet on Monday and Thursday mornings in Crosne Street Complex, 10 – 12.30pm. All welcome to attend. It was noted that Crosshouse Hospital requires premature baby hats, if anyone would like to knit some, would be appreciated. 

 

Bingo - Has restarted after the Christmas period, every second Tuesday afternoon at the Crosne Street Complex  

 

Theatre Group – this is co-ordinated by J Johnson and S Wilson 

 

Glasgow Panto – this year panto is Snow White & Seven Dwarfs, Wednesday 6 December 2023 at 1pm 

 

Ukelele – is held on Wednesday afternoons, Helen Whitefield expressed thanks for the money that they had applied to MOFs to allow the purchase of materials for the group, numbers vary each week but all welcome to come along  

It was asked about a Choir Group; members welcome to come along to the Ukelele and sing along.  

 

Walking Group – going from strength to strength, photographs are well accepted on Maybole Facebook. Group meets on Wednesday mornings 9.15am at Greenside the group can do up to 5mls per outing. 

 

Short Walking Group – this group covers approximately 2miles and meets at Greenside at 10am on a Wednesday morning. 

 

Yoga/Chair Yoga- both groups meet on Tuesday morning; one follows the other Yoga 9.30 – 11am and Chair Yoga 11.30-12.30pm. for the yoga the maximum for the church hall comfortably is 14 and the chair yoga is 12.  It is one group to be viable needs good attendance. 

  

 

Monday Lunch Club – meet 12.30pm @ Crosne Street; going to various venues, quite a few members attend. 

 

 It was asked about using the South Ayrshire Community Bus, but it can work out quite costly to use. 

 

Out & Abouters – they meet every 2nd Friday of the month, meet at Greenside around 10am to go on local bus service.  Senga has at least 4 places organised to go to.

Membership -will remain at £12 for the current year. 

 

May Outing – on Thursday 25 May 2023, going to Helensburgh and Loch Lomond Shores. Cost to members £20 and non-members £30.  Bus details of times and High Tea still to be confirmed.  

 

Tea coffee and sandwiches served.
